Established in 1989, located in Formby, between Liverpool and Southport on the border of Merseyside and West Lancashire, North West England, UK. West Lancs Canine Centre is situated in 7 acres of secure, floodlit dog training grounds, extensively modernised in 2002, with a new indoor dog training area.
Owned and run by Jean and Guy Richardson we invite you train your dog at the centre. We offer a comprehensive range of K9 training services, see Services Available at West Lancs Canine Centre 2007.

Guy has worked as a full time professional dogtrainer, dog behaviourist / dog behaviour therapist for 32 years. He offers dog behaviour counselling / dog behavioural therapy / dog training at his clinics at West Lancs Canine Centre and at the RSPCA Animal Shelter at Halewood, Liverpool. If you have a problem dog give Guy a call. Guy is regularly called upon to provide expert witness reports for owners and dogs who have become the subject of civil or criminal prosecution, i.e. The Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. West Lancs Canine Centre has been featured on ITV's 'Potty About Pets' when a seven week series followed the progress of six puppies under Guy's instruction. Several years ago six junior members of the training centre appeared live on ' Blue Peter'. Over the years several dogs trained at the centre have appeared in films and on television.
The centre and West Lancs Dog Display Team actively support the fundraising efforts of the Bark in the Park Community Roadshow.
In 2008 together with Animals in Need we are staging a 'Bark in the Park' events for charity at Croxteth Country Park in Liverpool and also in Southport

The Centre is the home training ground of the West Lancs Dog Display Team who have appeared at major events all around the UK. The team assist animal charities and childrens charitable organisations in Merseyside to raise funds by organising fun dog shows.

We also have a large stock of dog training equipment, dog toys and training aids.

a weekend or a longer holiday and want extra special care and attention with a difference for your dog, give us a call. All dogs in our care stay overnight in a normal family environment with their own personal carer. All our dog care services are fully licensed by Sefton Council.
